Foam Splitting

We have just added a TTarp K-1 Splitting-Skiving machine. The Splitting-Skiving Machine K-1 is designed to split flexible, semi-rigid, rigid PU/PE/EPDM/EVA/Cork/PVC Foam/neoprene and similar material planks. Materials with a hardness on the scale between 30 and 70 shore A or softer.

Foam Slitter Equipment
This machine allows cutting buns of materials to exact thicknesses giving our customers reduced cost because we convert our foams like Neoprene SCE-41B to the exact thickness our customer needs. You no longer have to worry if you need a very specific thickness of foam for the part. We can convert beyond your standard fractional thicknesses.

  • Maximum clearance is 198mm (7.8”)
  • Maximum cutting height above/below blade guide is 99mm (3.9”)
  • Minimum cutting thickness 1mm (.04”)
  • Cutting accuracy is +/- 0.23mm (.009”)
  • Working Width: 1600 mm (63”)

Both upper and lower traction rollers have an electronic thickness measuring device in hundredth of millimeters scale that is controlled via an electronic touchpad. The upward and downward movements of the knurled traction rolls are driven independently by two (2) 0.5HP motors.

The cutting process is performed by an endless (circuitous) knife edge blade – 80mm (3.15”) wide x 1mm ( .04”) thick. The blade works in one direction with a linear speed of 350m/min (1,140ft/min) within a blade guide.

The blade guide is mounted on a frame and provides extreme rigidity and flatness producing a clean – finished cut. Cutting accuracy is +/- 0.23mm (.009”)
